Choosing the right type of concrete can be tricky for some projects. Concrete is a versatile building material; your choice of appropriate material is important for successful application. Each type of concrete contains different components, all offering a different finish.

Below is a list of the types of concrete available on the BidCrete App:

Standard concrete is the most common type and most cost-efficient for residential applications, low-rise buildings, pavings, and driveways. Our suppliers offer specified standard strength, slump, and maximum size aggregative of Normal (N) class.

Simply put, polished concrete is concrete that has been polished. It is mechanically grounded, honed, and polished with bonded abrasives to cut a concrete’s floor surface. It adds a classy touch, perfect for store, showroom or medical/food grade floors!

Exposed concrete is a decorative concrete which is achieved by removing the top layer of cement paste and revealing the underlying aggregate. We suggest using it for outdoors spaces like sidewalks for more slip resistance.

This process involves applying a concrete coating of sprayed concrete to an existing slab. This sprayed affect transforms it into an attractive, hard wearing surface. Spraycrete is ideal for driveways and footpaths.

This polished concrete finish is designed so that there is no aggregated exposed. It’s becoming more popular with developers as it’s extremely durable and easy to maintain. It looks great in office spaces!

Blockfill concrete

The final concrete on the list, blockfill concrete, is less common but is designed to reach difficult places like underground parking lots. It is made of a pre-blended mix of fine and coarse aggregate.
